Dr. Roshane Wright, PhD

Hi, I’m Roshane! I am a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in working with people with psychosis.

With a decade of experience in the field of psychology, I specialize in supporting individuals experiencing psychosis, providing both evidence-based treatment and compassionate care. My work spans a range of clinical settings, from inpatient and outpatient care to state and forensic psychiatric facilities, where I’ve honed my skills in delivering care to individuals with psychosis and other complex psychiatric conditions.

A little bit more about me…

I completed my doctoral training at Howard University, earning my PhD in 2013, followed by a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Serious & Chronic Mental Illness at the Oklahoma City VA, through the University of Oklahoma Fellowship program in 2014. This specialized training deepened my understanding of psychosis and its long-term impact on individuals’ lives.

So why did I become interested in working with psychosis?

  • Over the past five years, I have integrated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp) into my clinical practice.
  • I received advanced training in CBTp under Dr. Sally Riggs, a leading expert in the field.
  • Through this work, I’ve witnessed the power of CBTp in helping individuals with psychosis navigate their experiences, develop coping strategies, and improve their quality of life.
  • I currently work at a city hospital in New York City on the acute inpatient psychiatric unit, providing direct care to individuals in crisis.
  • In addition to my clinical work, I train other mental health professionals and students in CBTp, helping them deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to those affected by psychosis.

I believe that together we can change the lives of people with psychosis, and the field as a whole.
